West Green Road Shop Fronts

Commissioned by Haringey Council, Make-Room worked with Tom Ebdon Architects and Michael Tite from Mountain on the design of several new shop fronts on West Green Road in Tottenham. Working to a very tight budget, this pilot scheme tested a range of ideas for shop front improvements across Tottenham which have now been commissioned.

Bom Pecado, before and after

Bom Pecado is a Portuguese bakery and cafe run by Joao Castro. Known to all as Castro, the owner was delighted by his new shop front featuring Portuguese porcelain tiles in traditional blues mixed with warm creams and oranges inspired by the delicious pastries on sale inside.

ABBA Property Services, before and after

ABBA is a long standing estate agency on West Green Road which was in need to a facelift. Senior negotiator Callista led the liaisons with the design team. She was keen for their business to stand out on the busy and cluttered street. We opted for bold colours and graphics, and commissioned the local Joinery students at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London to make the window display. They did a great job!

Uncle John’s Bakery, before

Uncle John’s Bakery, after

Uncle John’s Bakery occupies three units on West Green Road. With a very limited budget, the team managed to unite all three with a simple band of colour. Elements of the bakery’s existing logo were then applied to the facade through signage, window vinyls and a large scale shutter painting.
